My Top 5 Travel Beauty Essentials
Hi all! I am currently in the cool, backwoods of Tallahassee, Florida, visiting my grandparents who like to stay down here during the winter to get away from the freezing Ontario weather. The only downside to that is the fact that, to get to see them, I have to travel to the world's most boring beach community, that you have to be over age 45 to reside in. I’m almost positive it’s a law. Well, I decided to fly down with just carry on to avoid the long baggage retrieval times, which is tough, because I like to pack a TON of clothes. I also like to pack a lot of makeup, but, I am working very hard on scaling down the amount of beauty products I bring along. So, I have made a handy list of my essentials for traveling:
A BB/CC cream with SPF - Saves you from having to wear sunscreen over your makeup or having to pack a moisturizer with sunscreen in it. Also keeps your skin moisturized and gives your face a break from heavy foundations for a few days. My favourites are It Cosmetics CC Cream Get it HERE and the Maybelline BB Cream. Get it HERE
A mini eyeshadow pallet with easy to use shades - Saves space by only having to take one palette. I love the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette. Get it HERE
A mini version of your favourite setting powder - Vacations mean sun, sand and greasy skin, but who wants to bring a whole setting powder and risk it exploding in your makeup bag? Not me! My personal choice for setting powder is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Mini Get it HERE but most brands have a mini version of their powder for easy travel.
A liquid lipstick and gloss in similar shades - You are going to want two types of lipstick, a gloss for quickly swiping on during the day, and a matte liquid lipstick for night, and having the two in similar shades makes it easy to layer them depending on the look you’re going for. A lipstick I love is Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in the shade Birthday Suit Get it HERE and hands down the best lip gloss is by Chanel, it’s the Moisturizing Glossimer in the shade 744 SUBTIL Get it HERE.
Makeup removing wipes - A lot of people pack all this makeup, but forget to pack something to take it off with! It’s also handy to have something to take your makeup off with that doesn't require washing your face, because I’m on vacation, my beauty routine is not going to be a 15 step process. My favourite is the Neutrogena Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes Get them HERE.
I hope this list helps you out next time you are packing up to hop on a plane to your next destination! I’m off to go steal wifi from the bar/restaurant down the road to find an excuse to get away from my family that doesn’t require me taking a nap, which I’ve done three times already today. XOXO Maggie
